DIGNITY QUILT CHALLENGE

DIGNITY QUILTS CHALLENGE

The Loon Country Quilters of Grand Rapids Minnesota met on several occasions to cut, piece, quilt, and bind several quilts to give to the area mortuaries.

The morticians are using these quilts to cover their retrieval gurneys instead of the traditional white sheet or black zippered bag.

The goal is to give an extra measure of dignity to the dearly departed and to make this moment less traumatic for the family members and friends present.

You are invited - CHALLENGED - to make dignity quilts for mortuaries in YOUR area. The Allstars Dignity Quilt pattern is offered free of charge for your use. All other copyright issues remain the same. You may not make copies to sell, etc. Go to the 'Free Patterns' page of this website and print your own copy of the pattern.

I invite you to send a photo of the dignity quilt/quilts your guild makes. I'll place it on the student's gallery page of this website.

My daughter works at the VA hospital in DesMoines, Iowa. She would like to make a quilt for the hospital to use. You are invited to come up with many uses for these quilts.

Good luck, and Thanks.

Julie
