Quilting Patterns

Julie Olson of Hugs and Stitches Quilts Welcome to my web site. Come on in and browse a bit. You'll find unique patterns, and an innovative technique of constructing your quilt AFTER you quilt it and learn how to make a vest which fits YOUR body style.

I'm a person who likes to 'color outside the lines'. I grew up in a family of inventors and thrive with coming up with new, innovative ideas. I invite you to send a photo of any quilt using my patterns or assembly technique so I can put it in the 'Students' Gallery'.

Inspiration, my current competition quilt, was quilted in sections before it was assembled. It is 100" square. I think you can do ANYTHING if you break it up into manageable parts.

In its first summer of competition, Inspiration won Best of Show at the Itasca Co. Fair, 2nd place at the East Ottertail Show, and 2nd place in its division at Quilting on the Waterfront in Duluth, MN.

Learn the assembly technique from the book Seams Easy, Easier Method to Assemble Your Quilt AFTER You Quilt It.

Who says you have to have a special room in order to create??? I sew in our guest room when it's not being occupied. When our company leaves, everything comes out from the closet in totes. My sewing machine is set up in the closet where I have everything within easy reach.

Here are 7 of the best sources of inspiration any Grandma could have.
